Each year, Congress is responsible for passing Appropriations legislation to fund federal agencies. Rep. Vasquez will work to prioritize federal funding for the agencies and programs that serve New Mexico.

WASHINGTON, DC - In response to the New York Times report that the Biden Administration is considering reinstating family detention, Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02), who represents the third largest border district in the country, released the following statement:

“It is unacceptable that the Biden Administration is considering reinstating family detention to deter migrants who are fleeing dangerous situations. I urge the administration to work with border representatives on realistic and humane solutions to our border issues.”
