Veterans History Project

The Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress collects, preserves, and shares the firsthand accounts of U.S. military veterans who served from World War I through more present-day conflicts and peacekeeping missions, The project ensures that future generations may hear directly from veterans and gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, sacrifices, and service.
How to participate in the Veterans History Project:
- Complete the Submission Form: Fill out all required information in the submission form HERE.
- Schedule Your Interview: Once your application is processed, a staff member will contact you to schedule an interview.
- Prepare for Your Interview: On the day of your interview, please bring any historical materials, photographs, or memorabilia that help illustrate your experience.
- Recording and Archiving: After your interview is recorded, we will provide you with a copy and submit it to the Library of Congress to be included in their collection.
Our team will be available to support you throughout the process and answer any questions you may have.
