This funding will be directed towards a detailed site characterization study for three proposed carbon storage sites in the San Juan Basin, a vital region in northern New Mexico.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) again urged Texas Governor Greg Abbott to immediately remove the dangerous and unconstitutional concertina barrier recently installed to divide New Mexico and Texas. Vasquez noted that the barrier affects travel between New Mexico and Texas and directly violates the United States Constitution.

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (KFOX14) — Governor Greg Abbott has put up additional concertina wire along the southern border.

Abbott's actions have raised questions on the legality of having the wire expanded into New Mexico.

KFOX14 spoke with New Mexico Democratic Congressman Gabe Vasquez who expressed his disapproval of the expansion.

"This is really an insult to the community that we all share here collectively, but more importantly the governor's actions are unconstitutional," Vasquez said.
