Rep. Gabe Vasquez Statement on Supreme Court Hearing and Birthright Citizenship Case

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 1, 2026, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s hearing on birthright citizenship:  

“The 14th Amendment couldn’t be more clear — if you’re born in the U.S., you’re an American citizen. But today, the President took the unprecedented step of crashing the Supreme Court’s oral arguments, a move to intimidate the justices, sway the judicial process, and further erode the separation of powers. Birthright citizenship has lawfully paved the way for millions of successful, patriotic, and proud American citizens — and that law must stand.”
