Rep. Gabe Vasquez Statement on His Vote on H.R. 6090

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 6090.

“As a representative committed to upholding the values of our democracy, free speech and the safety of all students should always be a priority. The recent rise in anti-Semitic incidents across the country is deeply troubling. Every student deserves to feel safe and supported in their learning environment, free from fear or intimidation based on their religion or identity.

“I remain committed to working towards a ceasefire in the Middle East and paving the way for lasting peace.”
