Rep. Gabe Vasquez Hosts Teletownhall to Address Constituents' Concerns

March 11, 2025

Constituents raised concerns about DOGE, veteran benefits, and social security.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) hosted a virtual teletownhall, engaging directly with constituents to address pressing issues in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District. The event allowed thousands of residents to join, ask questions and share their concerns about key issues such as affordable housing, healthcare, veterans’ services, and economic development.

“As your representative, my number one job is to listen and fight for you in Washington,” said Vasquez. “Tonight’s teletownhall was another opportunity to ensure that your voices are heard and that we are working toward solutions that directly improve the lives of New Mexicans.”

During the town hall, Rep. Vasquez provided updates on his work in Congress and took live questions from participants. Among the questions asked:

  • Daniel from Hobbs - What are we doing to lower the prices of prescription drugs, and the Trump Administration threatening my Veteran benefits?
  • Sue via Facebook Live - What are your plans regarding the elimination of 80,000 VA jobs and providing ongoing care to our vets in New Mexico?
  • Stephen from Las Cruces - What is the plan for Democrats to stop the damage from DOGE? Are we going to hold Trump accountable?

Constituents with additional questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to the Congressman’s office directly.
