Rep. Gabe Vasquez Statement on Gaza Ceasefire

October 10, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On October 10, 2025, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) released the following statement after Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and prisoner exchange — the first step in the Trump Administration’s plan to end the two-year conflict.

“I have long been calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and I am immensely relieved to see that a tentative deal has been reached. I eagerly await the return of all hostages and peace and stability in Gaza,” said Vasquez. “A lot of work lies ahead on the road to recovery — and so much of the loss caused by this cruel conflict can never truly be repaired — but this is a promising first step toward peace in the region. We must now take on the hard work of helping a nation rebuild and heal.”

“I will continue to monitor the situation closely and work to ensure that the United States lends its support as a good faith partner to help this region recover from the past two years of tragedy and suffering.”
