Vasquez Secures a $4.6 Million Grant for Rural Health Care in Hatch, New Mexico
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) announced that he secured a $4.6 million grant for rural health care in Hatch. With this funding, Ben Archer Health Centers based in Hatch, New Mexico, will be better situated to serve its patients and improve the overall health and well-being of rural communities throughout the district.
“I am pleased to announce a new, $4.6 million federal investment for rural health care delivery in Hatch. New Mexicans are all too familiar with the barriers to accessing vital health care programs and facilities in rural areas. This issue is especially apparent in my district, and I am dedicated to securing the resources our rural health centers need to provide accessible and affordable health care,” said Vasquez.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded a total of $4,679,438 in funding to Ben Archer Health Center. This HHS funding is provided through the Health Center Cluster grant program, which supports community-based health care providers in low-income, rural, and underserved areas. The grant money will support Ben Archer Health Center as it continues to provide comprehensive, quality care to underserved communities in New Mexico.
